After the Fire traveled with a team to Santiam Canyon, Oregon, 14 months after wildfires tore through the canyon driven by high winds. The of Labor Day Weekend 2020 devastation took out hundreds of homes and wiped out several small towns in this beautiful scenic area along the North Santiam River. This video provides an overview of our tour of the area, led by members of the Santiam Canyon Long Term Recovery Group, The Santiam Hospital's Service Integration Team and The Santiam Canyon Wildfire Relief Fund and other Community groups.
We were able to start forming relationships with the people and programs in the area, and most importantly really see what they are doing with rebuild and recovery, how they have been resilient and resourceful, and also identify gaps or challenges that we may be able to support their work and find ways to help.
